Module Descriptions Data View - An interactive data visualization environment that allows the user to explore processed wave data through a variety of user-selectable plots and page layouts. Select from six comprehensive plot libraries with over 100 different plot types. Create your own data animations and export visualizations in a variety of convenient image formats. Data Utilities - Essential tools for wave data management. Subset and append data files. Remove bad records, smooth data across time and modify the spectral (frequency and angle) resolution of your data. Wave Systems - Performs a wave partitioning analysis to identify the various wind sea and swell wave components in the data. Powerful cluster analysis tools track the evolution of wave systems over time. Results are presented in an interactive wave vector history visualization tool. Spectral Fit - Computes 1D and 2D model fit parameters for wave system data. Available 1D fits include JONSWAP, Lognormal, and Gaussian. Directional distributions include COS2N, Ewans Windsea and Ewans Swell. A Fit Selection window facilitates user control of fit criteria with instant display of results. Sea State - Generates sea state inputs for Metocean design criteria and engineering studies. Select from a variety of output formats, including scatter diagrams, joint occurence tables, and time series of both observed and fitted wave system parameters. Swell Map - Applies wave dispersion calculation on the Wave Systems data to estimate the time and location of swell generation events. The results appear on an interactive map of swell source locations and great-circle evolution routes. For deep water sites only. Auto Waves - Set up an automated data analysis sequence for batch and real-time data processing that will repeat at user-specified intervals. Results can be saved to disk or sent via FTP to a web-based display. Data Export Wizard - Allows the user to develop and save custom output data table files. Select from an extensive list of available output fields and specify the desired output format (ASCII, EXCEL or mat-file). Additional Information XWaves requires MATLAB™ to operate.
